Full Program Itinerary
Day One: Bon Voyage! |
The adventure gets going as our Hanoi-bound travel group checks in for our international overnight flight! |
Day Two: Chào mừng bạn đến, Vietnam! |
When we arrive at Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport, our expert, in-country Travel Manager and motor coach driver will meet us as we clear customs formalities.
Then, we’re headed to our accommodation for the evening. After a late check-in, we may want to explore the hotel a bit and stretch our legs, but it will be late – so more than anything we’ll likely be ready to get a good night’s sleep. |
Day Three: Vietnam – Another Perspective & An Ancient, Grand City |
Today, we’ll enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Hanoi. Hanoi presents an alternative perspective on Vietnam.
|
Day Four: Halong Bay & Junk Boat Cruise |
After breakfast, we’ll depart Hanoi for the magnificent and wondrous Halong Bay: 600-square-miles studded with almost 2,000 jutting, lushly forested limestone islands, or karsts.
We’ll board a traditional “Junk Boat” for a beautiful cruise around Halong bay. Tonight will be particularly memorable, as not only will we enjoy dinner as we cruise, we’ll also overnight onboard the Junk! |
Day Five: Ancient Floating Culture & Water Adventures |
Today, we’ll continue our boating adventure!
|
Day Six: Catching Our Breath en route to Ho Chi Minh City |
After a few action-packed days, we’ll slow our pace today as we are en route for most of the day from Halong Bay to Ho Chi Minh City.
|
Day Seven: Same War, Different Name |
|
Day Eight: The Cu Chi Tunnels |
In the Cu Chi Region we will visit the vast underground network of tunnels built as a defense against the French, and later expanded during the American War.
|
Day Nine: From Darkness into Light |
Nothing creates a more enduring and haunting impression than coming face to face with mankind’s greatest evils.
|
Day Ten: Taking it in, from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap |
After a few days of heavy and intense encounters, we’ll relax and take in the sights as we travel from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap.
Siem Reap is the gateway to Angkor, an ancient capital of Angkor, with 70 magnificent ruins in a forested zone of more than 200 square kilometers, is one of the grandest wonders of Indo-China. |
Day Eleven: Angkor Wat |
You’d better have lots of space available on your cameras today! Day 11 is all about Angkor Wat, a magnificent and recognizably-famous 12th century temple (think Lara Croft: Tomb Raider & Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom).
|
Day Twelve: Sa-wa-dee, Thailand! |
This morning we will travel from Siem Reap to Bangkok, Thailand!
|
Day Thirteen: Golden Grandeur & Cultural Immersion |
This morning, we begin to really discover the magnificence of Bangkok.
|
Day Fourteen: Floating Canals, Pagoda-Palooza & an Overnight Train |
There are countless floating markets throughout Thailand, but the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is the most famous.
After visiting the market, we’ll continue on to Phra Pathom Chedi with its’ golden-tiled dome, widely regarded as the largest pagoda in South East Asia. After lunch, we’ll drive to Hua Lampong Train Station to board an air-conditioned night sleeper train to Chiang Mai!
|
Day Fifteen: A Day with Jungle Elephants |
This adventure-rich program continues with a stunning and memorable day of fun.
Set in a beautiful jungle on the banks of the Ping River, we’ll find the Chiang Dao Elephant Camp.
This afternoon, we’ll board traditional bamboo rafts to ride the gentle river through the jungle, eventually arriving at an ideal location for a rustic, traditional dinner. |
Day Sixteen: Thai Rainforest Zip Adventure |
On our final full day in Asia, we will experience the beauty, magic and adventure of Thailand’s ancient rainforest. There is a lot to learn from our biologist guides about this fascinating biosphere, and the rich assortment of species that inhabit the rainforest – but there is plenty of time for fun, too!
Hopefully you will have saved a little spending money for your last night, because after dinner, we’ll explore the busy Night Bazaar and search for last-minute souvenirs and gifts for family & friends. |
